Our human studies are aimed at applying the most promising MRI techniques from preclinical studies to patients with acute spinal cord trauma.

SPINAL CORD OPTIMIZED DWI

We translated an optimized filtered diffusion weighted imaging (fDWI) method to the human MRI platforms with the goal of reducing the competing and confounding effects of edema that complicate many other methods such as diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).

ACUTE SPINAL CORD TRAUMA

Our protocol for human spinal cord trauma studies involves an additional research add-on to the clinical MRI exam on 1.5T systems within the hospital inpatient setting.
